If you're new to Rummy, don't worry! We'll explain the rules in a simple way to avoid confusion. First, let's get you familiar with the controls.
Controls
- Drag a card with your mouse to move it.
- Release to place the card.
How to Play Rummy?
- Players use a standard 54-card deck, including 2 jokers. You'll be dealt 13 cards initially.
- On each turn, draw cards from the face-down deck or discard pile.
- At the end of your turn, discard a card (choose one you think you won't need later).
- Your goal is to create as many melds as possible. What is a meld in Rummy?
- Melds: A combination of 3 or more cards. Examples include:
- Sequence (A♠️,2♠️,3♠️): Three cards in a row of the same suit.
- Set (A♣️,A♦️,A♥️): Three cards of the same rank but of different suits.
- Jokers: Act as wild cards and can replace any card within a meld.
- You can place your melds on the table and add to existing melds, including those of other players.
- Laying off cards means turning them into scores.
- Round Win: You win the round when you discard your last card.
- Game Win: Accumulate 500 points across all rounds to win the game.
It's that simple. You can also find a tutorial in the game to see the rules in action. Next, we'll explain how the score is calculated.
Game Score
Points are calculated based on the total score of melded cards minus the points for the remaining cards in hand. Each card has a distinct score in Rummy. Try to discard or meld high-value cards first.
- Aces: 15 points
- Jokers: 15 points
- Face Cards: 10 points
- 2-9: Face Value
