How to play Grandmaster Chess?
Having basic chess knowledge is helpful. In this game, you play against artificial intelligence. Here are some settings and options:
- Top screen settings: reset or flip the board, revert your last move, or adjust the difficulty level from the main menu.
- Choose your color (black or white) from the main menu.
- Click on a piece to see its possible moves. Anticipate your opponent's moves for the best results.
How do chess pieces move?
The system shows possible moves, but here's a quick guide:
- Pawn: Moves one square at a time, except for the first move, where it can move two squares.
- Rook (Castle): Moves any number of squares along its current row or column.
- Knight: Moves in an 'L' shape, any direction.
- Bishop: Moves diagonally, staying on the same color squares.
- Queen: Moves any number of squares in any direction, but only in a straight line.
- King: Moves one square in any direction, unless in checkmate.
Controls
Use your mouse to select and move pieces. Hover over the piece, press and hold the left mouse button, and move it to the desired tile.
